WHY SHOULD I BUY THIS CORAL?
The Holy Grail Amakusensis is one of the most coveted torch corals in the reef hobby, renowned for its ultra-high saturation gold to neon yellow tentacles paired with contrasting bright green tips and intense fluorescence. Originating from the Amakusa region lineage, this coral displays exceptional colour density and long, flowing tentacles that create unmatched movement and presence. Its rarity and visual impact make it a true showpiece coral for premium reef displays.

CARE LEVEL
Moderate
Best suited to established reef systems with excellent stability and consistent maintenance.

WATER REQUIREMENTS & GENERAL CARE

• Temperature: 24–27 °C
• Salinity: 1.024–1.026 (32–35 ppt)
• pH: 8.1–8.4
• Alkalinity: 8–10 dKH
• Calcium: 400–450 ppm
• Magnesium: 1250–1350 ppm
Highly stable parameters are critical to maintaining colour intensity, tissue thickness, and long-term health.

LIGHTING
• Moderate
• PAR Range: 100–180 PAR

Moderate lighting brings out the strongest gold and green coloration. Sudden exposure to high PAR should be avoided—slow acclimation is essential.

PLACEMENT
• Bottom / Lower–Mid rockwork

Place on solid rockwork or the sandbed with the skeleton fully supported. Allow generous spacing from other corals to prevent stinging.

FLOW
• Low–Moderate

Provide indirect, oscillating flow that allows the long tentacles to sway freely without snapping or excessive retraction.

FEEDING
• Photosynthetic: Benefit from feeding
Recommended feeding schedule:
• 1–2 times per week
Accepted foods:
• Finely chopped mysis or brine shrimp
• LPS pellets
• Reef roids or fine powdered coral foods
• Liquid coral foods or amino acids

Target feeding supports faster growth, thicker tentacles, and enhanced colour saturation.

COMPATIBILITY & BEHAVIOUR
• Temperament: Semi aggressive
• Long sweeper tentacles, especially at night
• Requires significant spacing from neighbouring corals
• Can be kept with other Euphyllia if ample room is provided

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
• Family: Euphylliidae
• Origin: Indo-Pacific (Amakusensis lineage)
• Natural Habitat: Sheltered reef slopes with moderate water movement
• Typical Depth Range: 5–30 m
